Chief Executive Officer

Pete co-founded T2 Sensing in 2023 and is T2’s Chief Executive Officer. Pete has 20 years’ experience in research and development of distributed fibre sensing solutions, for applications ranging from Oil & Gas, through energy, renewables and utilities, to security and structural health monitoring. Solutions utilising distributed fibre acoustic, vibration, strain and temperature sensing technologies. In 2006 Pete led development and deployment of the world’s first commercial distributed pressure sensing solution, monitoring Hydrate formation in subsea pipelines. Pete joined Fotech Solutions in 2008 and was instrumental in the commercialisation of Fotech’s product portfolio between 2008 and 2023. Pete holds a DPhil from University of Sussex in the Computation of Responses of Nonlinear Systems with Random Forcing, has publications, patents, and has resided on technical committees for FOSA, SEAFOM, and API.

Chief Technology Officer

Vince co-founded T2 Sensing in 2023 and is T2’s Chief Technical Officer. He has more than 46 years’ experience in research and development of photonics and fibre optic sensing technologies. Having started work on distributed fibre sensing in 1988 at King’s College London, he was later instrumental in the development, commercialisation, and patenting of distributed acoustic and vibration sensing technologies at Fotech Solutions between 2008 and 2023. Vince holds a PhD from Imperial College London in the behaviour of polarised light in optical fibres and has authored over 130 publications including five book chapters and he has 28 patent family applications either granted or pending. 

Director of Software Development

Alan Yau has over 15 years of research experience on developing prototype software for demonstrating the idea of using AI, machine learning and signal processing approaches for object detection system, robotics, active RFID tracking and temperature & vibration sensing.  Alan joined Fotech Solutions in 2012 and was accountable for evaluating various algorithms, and developing data acquisition, data analysis and automated testing applications to support the research and development of distributed vibration and acoustic sensing system.  He also experienced in the design of data and software architecture for AI and ML.  Alan received a BEng (Hons) degree in electronic and electrical engineering, a MSc degree in intelligent system and a PhD in AI cognitive robotics from University of Sunderland. 

Operations and Test Engineer

Ben has 12 years of experience beginning with 10 years at Fotech Solutions, in charge of developing and conducting Optical Assembly Testing and Manufacturing Acceptance Testing for Fotech’s products. In the final 2 years at Fotech he moved to a field-based role where he was responsible for installing, demonstrating, and troubleshooting all Fotech Solutions products and software around the world. More recently he worked at LWF UK Ltd, deploying DAS systems and testing their performance in the water sector.
